2016 is officially here, and with it a new hair color trends guide to inspire you all yearlong! While last year’s bold, vibrant colors were certainly stunning (we’re looking at you, Galaxy Hair), we predict 2016 hair color to eschew more natural, earthy tones. From antique-brushed blondes to rustic copper reds and browns, this is the only 2016 Hair Color Trends Guide you need this year!
The Great Guide of Hair Color Trend 2016
Mohawk Highlights
For this look, highlights are added down the center and on the ends of the hair.
DIP-DYE
The country singer debuted pink dip-dyed tips at the 2015 CMAs right after news broke that ex-husband Blake Shelton is dating Gwen Stefani. The light pink pairs well with the blonde, giving it a fun jolt of color that still compliments her skin tone.
RONZE
An updated take on bronde for blondes, this hair color trend is made for redheads. "Ronze is a mixture of copper red and bronze brown," Matrix StyleLink celebrity hairstylist George Papanikolas told Good Housekeeping. It works well on all complexions, you just have to find the best version with your colorist. For those with fair skin like Julianne, you'll want a more vibrant undertone.
BUTTERY BLONDE
After a few years of cool blonde shades popping up all over, warm blondes are making a comeback. "Think more buttery beige and sandy blondes, less icy blondes," says celebrity stylist Brian O'Connor.
Cinnamon Swirl Hair
Ready for a trend that's pretty enough to eat? Cinnamon swirl hair, coined by Cutler Salon's Ryan Pearl and shown on model Natalia Borges here, is taking off this year.

From Dark Roots to Light Ends
This is another trend that you will be seeing this year. Many would get a hair color wherein the roots are dark and the ends are lighter. With this hair color, you can get the looks of Drew Barrymore. Isn’t it nice? Apparently, it looks better for longer hair.
Sandstone Blonde
Sandstone is a hair color trend inspired by wind swept sands with soft shadowing and ripples of color.
Strawberries & Champagne
What better way to ring in 2016 than with a hair color inspired by New Year’s favorite sparkly sweet drink? Strawberries & Champagne is a dazzling blend of both champagne and strawberry blonde. A great hair color option for blondes who want to dabble in some reddish-gold tones without an overall commitment to “red hair.”
